You will rarely come across a man that is more passionate about school facilities management (and its intricacies) than James Lloyd. Although he didn’t know co-founder Jemma when they were chosen as the Head Boy/Girl team at school, they became inexorably paired over their common passion for supporting education through sustainable social innovation. It was this pairing that led to School Space being founded in 2011 and James has lost none of his enthusiasm and vocal advocacy for the company and it’s mission. No part of the operation is unseen by him and he is as comfortable with troubleshooting locks as he is driving high level business strategy.
After coming together with James in 2011 as one half of their school Head Boy/Girl team, Jemma has remained a passionate beating heart of School Space. A lifelong evangelist of the importance of education, she excelled as an undergraduate with a degree in history from Cambridge University. With broad oversight of sales, strategy and company expansion, Jemma leads from the front with the same conviction as the day she started.
Community Team Lead
From valuable customer relationship builder by day to Sesh King at night, Brandon swapped club promoting in Brighton to join the fast-growing School Space towards the back end of 2018 and has closed over £650k worth of deals since then. Loved by religious groups and hated by none, whatever your space needs Brandon will find a way to fulfil them.
Although you don’t often see someone in an elephant onesie heading up Machu Picchu, in 2013 you would have been pleasantly surprised to see just that. When combining an adventurous soul with a burning desire to enact widespread societal change, you get Aditi – an entrepreneurially minded, operations supremo. With everything from systems, to communications to marketing falling under her remit, she has made a massive impact on how School Space runs and prepares for growth. She is also a superb chef.
Senior Business Development Manager
Frances has 6 years experience working in sales and business development. She has spent her career working in start ups and social enterprises. At School Space she works across customer sales, new schools and partnerships. This often involves her cycling around London visiting new schools and trying not to get lost! When she’s not working (and sometimes when she is) she can be found listening to politics podcasts, keeping up her interest following her studies at the University of Cambridge.
Customer Operations Representative
After Yvee’s gap year took an unintentional extension to “gap decade”, she found an alternative to the university route, and spent around 4 years working and volunteering around the world. From teaching English in Madrid to picking pineapples on an eco-farm in Taiwan, she’s finally settled in London to work in the Customer Operations team at School Space. Yvee’s always wanted a career that will make a positive difference to our society and loves the way School Space contributes to communities around London and Oxford.
Raised in Toronto and born in Sofia, Bulgaria – Monica is the only member of School Space without a British accent. She has varied experience in digital marketing, content, and Agile marketing process management. After finishing her degrees at the University of Toronto and UCL in London, Monica spent most of her career leading marketing teams at software companies. Now, she is responsible for a leading the bulk of School Space’s marketing strategy and execution. She splits her time between Canada and Bulgaria, keeping things dynamic.
